Saturday 2 November, 12pm – 7pm
The artist will be working on a spindle in the space from 12pm, artist talk 2–4pm and finissage 5–7pm.

Imogen Bright Moon is a British Romani textile artist who creates richly textured, highly tactile woven textile works from yarn that she spins and blends herself.

Her work has an emphasis on an engagement with nature, the rhythms of the seasonal craft cycle, ethical making, sustainability and mindfulness.

On display will be large weavings in cloth and tapestry, made from yarn of hemp, soya, wild silk, alpaca hair and more, as well as knitted and woven samplers and wooden typeset cases filled with natural treasures.

This is also a celebration of the release of Imogen’s first publication with Batsford Books, Wild Yarn. The inspirational book encourages readers to create their own textures, artisanal yarn for use in knitting, weaving and other textile applications. The book is illustrated with beautiful photography of Imogen’s studio throughout the year.

Wild Yarn by Imogen Bright Moon is published by Batsford, 10 October 2024,
Hardback, £25.

The Wild Yarn Sampler, large weaving in cloth and tapestry techniques,

In 2022 Imogen was a recipient of Gypsy Maker 5 from the Romani Cultural & Arts Company / Arts Council Wales. She is represented by The New Craftsmen and exhibited at Collect at Somerset House in 2023. She is based in Brighton.
